Situated only 71 Km. away from the City of Buenos Aires, crossed by the Luján River , this city is famous for its breathtaking gothic Basilica, Argentina's greatest religious sanctuary, which raises its 106 meter towers over the pampa's plain.
About 95,000 inhabitants live in the city, out of which thousands live under the line of poverty and in inadequate conditions.
The program Habitat for Humanity Argentina (HPHA) commenced in Luján in the year 2003 thanks to the initiative of a committed group of volunteers who after hard work, could begin the first constructions in March 2004.
